Cody McCormack, 15th Dan, Shihan

Cody McCormack has been involved in martial arts for 20 years with over 15 years specifically studying the Bujinkan martial arts. He currently holds the rank of Jugodan (15th degree black belt) in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. Cody continues to travel to Japan twice each year to train with Nagato-Sensei (DaiShihan, Soke Shinden Fudo Ryu), and the senior Japanese Shihan. He also travels the country continuously throughout the year to seminars with senior instructors in the U.S. to continue furthering his own training.

He strives to continually increase his understanding of the ryu-ha (martial schools) that make up the Bujinkan, while maintaining a focus on how these ancient arts and principles translate to modern day applications. A lifelong interest in the martial arts, Cody began with studying Kung Fu and Taijichuan at 18 years old. Later, he briefly studied Tang Soo Do.

In 2009 he found Shihan Dr. Leland Cseke, a student of DaiShihan Dr. Michael Asuncion, and the UAHuntsville Bujinkan Dojo. He was immediately enthralled by the art, and has since trained as often as possible to improve and understand the depth of the art. In 2015 Cody traveled to Japan and passed the Godan (5th degree black belt) test under Noguchi DaiShihan, Koto Ryu Soke. In 2017, Dr. Cseke Shihan relocated to Missouri, and Cody officially became a student of DaiShihan Dr. Jeff Walker. While still training with DaiShihan Walker regularly, Cody travels to Japan to train directly with Nagato-Sensei, and the Japanese DaiShihan twice per year.

In 2018, he founded the Bujinkan Rocket City Dojo in Huntsville, AL. In 2023 he relocated the dojo to a new location off of University Drive in Huntsville, where we combined forces with the UAHuntsville Bujinkan dojo, and Shihan Joshua Geckles.

Joshua Geckles, 10th Dan Shihan

Joshua has been training in the Bujinkan martial arts organization since 2008 and has been teaching the art since 2016.

It is his goal to continue training in Budo, learn the many valuable lessons that the art has to teach, and share them with others.
